A Year of Many Firsts.

"I should update here more often."

And I never do. :/ Terrible habit for a terrible person.

This year was probably a true milestone year for me. This year I made many memories I think I'll truly treasure forever. One of them was that of my first booth experience at Minnacon!

Compared to many of the veterans there, I felt like a real Newbie. With a really bare and sparse table, and only 2 kinds of products for sale since I didn't have time to prepare more after returning from my Graduation Trip to Japan. I learnt much from this con--about how decorate my booth better, how to better market my products, and how to build hype and anticipation since I've decided to enter this industry of Doujin Booths. I've never churned out so much fanart in such a short time, and I hope I can keep this up for my next boothing experience at ICDS in August.

Seems like Badges are more popular than bookmarks at the past con. But let's see how the sales go this round! I'm ready for a second experience, and I pray that I won't be such a noob this time round lol.

Thankfully I had my buddy Hua around to keep me company. Even though the pre-booth preparation was mostly done by me (dies), having her at the booth to keep me company and to keep encouraging me and giving me suggestions (since she's had booths of her own before) really helped. I'm honoured to be boothing with another friend Weixin for ICDS--she'll be doing adorable nail art alongside my fanart merchandise! Can't wait.

I also found that drawing at the booth was a really meaningful way to spend the time. So I churned out a Tsuna, Basil, Hibari, Crona and Toshirou (in that order) while waiting for customers! This gave me the bright idea of opening on the spot commissions for the next con! I wonder if anyone will be interested in $3-$5 commissions. Maybe I'll ask around when I finally get my Facebook page up.

Lots has been happening in life lately, one of which is the fact that I've been trying to land myself in full-time employment haha. Results of that are kinda not known yet, just praying for guidance and a clear path to show where I should be heading.
